Line 561 (Green Line - LAX - Westwood - Van Nuys Bl. Express)
Replaced with new Metro Rapid Line 761 between Lake View Terrace and Westwood.
Public Comment and (Staff Response):
- Oppose reroute from the Sylmar/San Fernando terminal (majority of patrons on both Lines 233 and 561 have origins and destinations in Lake View Terrace and not Sylmar)
- Oppose canceling segment between Westwood and Aviation Green Line Station (Line 561 route segment between Westwood and the Aviation Green Line Station had low productivity)
- Need for service to Skirball Museum and the Getty Center (Line 761 implemented with service to both locations)
- Modify Line 761 proposal to incorporate two overlapping shortlines -- from Olive View Medical Center to Westwood and from Lake View Terrace to Aviation Green Line Station -- with limited stop service via Westwood Blvd., Overland Ave., and Sepulveda Blvd. to Aviation Station (not recommended since they defeat key elements of the program for a simple route layout and unique stop locations with signal priority)
